Art Deco Chic

On March 8th, 2012 our fashion history class paid a visit to the Museum of Vancouver to see an Art Deco exhibit which featured beautifully crafted dresses and gowns from the 1920's-1940's. We were all astounded upon walking into the exhibit, our mouths gaping and our eyes wide, every single dress was more fabulous than the other. This entire field trip was every fashion student's dream. We had surely never seen such beautiful garments in our lives. Our entire class was ready to leave once we thought we had seen everything so we decided to wait for our teacher in the lobby. Once she found us she asked what we were doing sitting in the lobby because there was an entire section of the museum we hadn't experienced yet. We were all shocked that there was still more to come! We walked to the other side of the museum where it took us on a journey through the decades! 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, you name it! If I could pick one of my favourite John Casablancas memories, it would have to be this day! This was one of the last days of term two and we were all completely burnt out, so to end this class on a light note with my 136 family was just what we needed.
